Common questions
Will I lose my files?
No. Everything is backed up before the install starts and restored afterwards. If a drive is failing and a full backup is not possible, I will tell you that before touching anything rather than after.
Can I run Windows and Linux on the same PC?
Yes. I set up dual-boot so you pick which one to start at boot. Done properly, neither installation interferes with the other.
Which Linux distribution should I use?
Ubuntu for most people — it is the best supported and the easiest to find help for. If you have a specific reason for another distribution, I can work with that instead.
My PC is slow. Will reinstalling fix it?
Often yes, but not always — sometimes the real cause is a dying drive or not enough RAM, and a reinstall would only hide it for a few weeks. I will check the hardware first and tell you honestly which one it is.
